Tesla fans are already familiar with the 2025 Model Y refresh, codenamed “Juniper,” which introduced a sleeker design, upgraded interior, and mechanical improvements. Now, digital renderings offer a glimpse at what a similarly updated Tesla Model S could look like if it received the same treatment.
A Cybertruck-Inspired Front End
The render, created by digital artist Theottle and shared on YouTube, takes cues from the latest Model Y. It features a bold new front fascia with a full-width LED light bar connecting the slim daytime running lights. The lower-mounted headlights and redesigned bumper, which incorporates sportier side vents, give the vehicle a more aggressive stance. The hood and front fenders have also been reshaped to align with this futuristic aesthetic.
Refined Design and Updated Interior
From the side, the Model S remains largely unchanged, but it could sit on new 20-inch wheels, with some markets possibly offering a 19-inch aero-optimized option. One subtle detail that varies across different regions is the Tesla logo placement—some markets, like Australia, might omit it, while others, like China, may retain it.
Inside, the Model S “Juniper” would likely mirror the refreshed Model Y, featuring a 15.4-inch central display, an 8-inch rear passenger screen, and redesigned seats with updated upholstery. The dashboard, door panels, and center console could see a refresh as well. Unlike the Model Y, which reintroduced a physical indicator stalk, the Model S would likely continue relying on touchscreen controls for gear selection.
Expected Performance Enhancements
Beyond aesthetics, a potential Model S update could introduce improvements such as acoustic glass for better cabin insulation, noise-optimized tires, and a retuned suspension. Tesla’s latest autonomous driving technology would also be a given. While the Model Y Juniper maintained its existing powertrain, any updates to the Model S might include performance tweaks to keep it competitive.
However, many Tesla enthusiasts believe it’s time for an all-new Model S rather than another facelift, as the current generation has been around since 2012. While this digital rendering isn’t official, it offers an interesting take on what a refreshed Model S might look like. What do you think—would you welcome a Model S “Juniper” update, or is it time for a full redesign?
